Info Regarding Prescriptions

As a licensed professional counselor, I do not prescribe medications. In order to get a prescription for psychiatric medication, you need to obtain a script from someone with prescribing privileges (e.g. your family doctor, a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner.) I am fairly new to Denver, and still working on forming connections with other practitioners in the area.

Currently, the best possibilities that I know of for psychiatric services in the Denver area are Dr. Richmond in the Cap Hill neighborhood---if you are using insurance or Leslie Vannuci, NP in Centennial--if you are willing to go out of network.

This is not meant as an exhaustive list of prescribers. I am trying to network more and find some good people to refer clients to. It's important to keep in mind that for many psychiatrists, you may need to book an appointment up to 3 months in advance, and it may be difficult to find someone who accepts insurance. The good news is that in general, you only need to meet with a psychiatrist about once a month to manage your medication.

Many of my clients suffer from anxiety and, understandably, are seeking medication to help manage the symptoms. I completely support anyone who is interested in doing that. I just can't prescribe.
